Sprint Buddy

Scrum templates for every event in the sprint

Scrum gives you the framework, not the paperwork. These templates cover each Scrum event and artefact with a structure teams can pick up immediately: sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, retrospective, definition of done and the sprint backlog itself.

Sprint planning

A planning worksheet that starts from capacity, not optimism. Enter team availability, holidays and focus factor, and the sheet shows how many points or hours the sprint can realistically hold before you commit to a sprint goal.

  • Capacity per team member with absence handling
  • Sprint goal and commitment section
  • Sprint backlog with estimates and owners

Daily scrum and sprint review

A short daily format that keeps the fifteen minutes about progress toward the sprint goal and impediments, plus a sprint review agenda that gives stakeholders a clear picture of what was delivered against what was committed.

  • Daily impediment log the Scrum Master can act on
  • Review agenda with demo order and feedback capture
  • Increment summary for stakeholders

Retrospective and definition of done

Retrospective formats that avoid the same three complaints every sprint, and a definition of done checklist teams agree on once and apply consistently. Sprint Buddy can also draft the retrospective from your ticket data — what shipped, what stalled and where scope changed.

  • Multiple retrospective formats with action tracking
  • Definition of done and definition of ready checklists
  • AI retrospective draft from real sprint data

From template to automated reporting

Once your Scrum events have a structure, the remaining cost is reporting. Connect Jira, Azure DevOps or Linear and Sprint Buddy writes the sprint summary and stakeholder report from the issues themselves.

FAQ

Do these templates follow the Scrum Guide?
They follow the events, artefacts and accountabilities of the Scrum Guide, with practical additions such as capacity calculation that the guide deliberately leaves open.
Can a Kanban team use them?
The retrospective, definition of done and status reporting templates work for Kanban teams. Sprint planning and capacity assume timeboxed sprints.
Is there training with the templates?
Yes. The Academy course covers Scrum and agile delivery lesson by lesson, and a sprint simulator lets you practise planning under pressure.
